As I bid goodbye

As I’m leaving on a jet plane
My mind returns to
A solitary boat in the water
Clattering, hissing waves
Gently bleached driftwood
The moon shining over the sea
An easy lift of a sailing ship
To the open sea and the wind
I see myself leave
Flying over the ocean out of sight
I float alone now
The water seems stagnant
But you’re still there, standing like when I left
